The Interview Evidence Kit

Walk in with a number attached to every question they are going to ask.

Wendling Nonprofit Consulting | Fractional COO services for mission driven organizations

Generic interview prep was built for software engineers. It hands you the same forty behavioral questions and a template that starts with Situation. None of it knows what a board interview is, or that an executive director is really asking whether you will survive a funder cut without losing the program.

This is built for the other room. Nonprofit and public sector operations interviews, by stage, by lane, and structured around the one thing that separates a senior operator from a good talker. A number.

It is the fourth station. The Job Scout Builder finds the roles. The Apply Decision Worksheet decides which earn an application. The ATS Reality Check gets the document past the parser. This one gets you ready for the conversation that follows.

What this tool will not do
How this works
  1. Name the seat and the stage. The question set builds itself from the stage plus your sector lane.
  2. Work every card. Context, the number, the decision you made, what changed. Four lines each, not a paragraph.
  3. Pick the questions you will ask them, then print the prep sheet. After the interview, fill the debrief and paste it into your tracker.

Load a role from your worksheet or scout report

Optional. If you have a scout report or a filed worksheet, drop the file or paste the text and the seat details fill in. Otherwise just type them below.

or paste it below

PART 1

The seat

The stage and the lane decide which questions you get. Change either one and the set rebuilds.

PART 2

Your evidence

One card per question. The number field is the point of the whole exercise. Volume, budget, headcount, percentage, count of findings, days to stand up. A card with no number is a story, and a story loses to the candidate who brought arithmetic.

PART 3

What you ask them

Grouped by what the answer actually reveals. Pick four or five. The ones you choose tell them as much as your answers did.

0 selected.

One per line. These print with the rest.

PART 4

What to listen for

Check these during or right after the conversation, not before. Three or more and you are looking at a seat that will not hold.

    PART 5

    The debrief

Fill this within an hour of walking out, while you still remember what they actually said. It pastes into your tracker.
